A night to remember
What a fantastic night to remember at the FlyDSA Arena Sheffield on Thursday 31st January. We arranged an extra special Box4Kids experience for our deserving guests which included a meet and greet with all the stars before the show! Sydney, Isabella, Jenna, Ellie and Lucy were given exclusive access to the dressing rooms where they were had their pictures taken with the stars before watching them perform from the luxury of an executive box.
Jenna, who had to have major brain surgery in December to stop her epilepsy, is a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing and watched the show every week. Following the show her mum Kate said;
“Wow what an amazing person to do this for us and many others, thank you so much for the opportunity you gave my daughter tonight, can’t thank you enough, what a fantastic charity”
Lucy was nominated from Sheffield Children’s Hospital and has systemic onset juvenile arthritis. However, she does not let this stop her from doing what she loves as she is a very keen ballroom dancer herself. Meeting the cast certainly helped to inspire her further. Her mum Melanie said;
“Thank you so much for an amazing evening, with your help we have certainly made some fantastic memories for our children.”
All of our guests who were invited are incredibly inspiring including Ellie who has endured a liver transplant. She was nominated from Leeds General Infirmary to watch the show and her mum Tracy said;
“Thank you for the amazing night and giving Ellie the chance to meet her favourite dancing star Lauren Steadman. It will be a night she will never forget.”
The charity does not accept any financial donations as the Barrie Wells Trust is solely funded by Barrie Wells. Instead we are asking you to share our stories to reach more box holders who may be able to donate the use of their executive boxes and make more events like this possible.
