Sunday 25th October welcomed the 1000th guest to attend Barrie’s personal executive box at Anfield.

Children from Alder Hey Children’s hospital and other hospices across the UK have been invited to the box by Barrie since
2010 and we are amazed that the box has now benefited 1000 children and their families.

As part of the build up to the event some lucky children were invited to Melwood to meet Daniel Sturridge and Lucas Leiva for an unforgettable experience.

Sunday’s 1000th guest celebrations at Anfield saw several sporting stars come into the box to meet the children including Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush and our Patron, Olympic heptathlete; Katarina-Johnson Thompson.

Children were also invited for some close up views of the players pitch side before the kick off and were able to watch the game featuring the debut of new manager Klopp, as VIP’s from the comfort of the executive box.

One such child who has benefited from the project is 11 year old Liam Triggs, who also features in the incredibly moving Box4Kids video narrated by Daniel Sturridge.   View the video here.

8 year old Ted said, ‘I felt like Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory winning the last golden ticket!’

If you would like to get involved with our initiative and have a box to donate then we would love to hear from you.
