“Elliot described his night in the box as the best night of his life! As a parent, to witness that joy on your child’s face is irreplaceable”

“I think it’s a fantastic gesture from Barrie. These kids have probably been deprived of an awful lot of things that people take for granted and for them to come along, sit in comfort, have a bit of food and hopefully watch Liverpool win, then I’m sure it will be a dream come true.
Kenny Dalglish, former Liverpool player

The Box4Kids initiative is a wonderful way of giving young children who are seriously ill or physically challenged a very special day out. They can attend a big football match or major sporting event and be treated first-hand to a VIP experience and an unrivalled view of the action on the pitch from ‘their own’ hospitality box. Barrie Wells has a very kind heart.

Brian Barwick, Chairman of the RFL
Elliot was so lucky to have the amazing chance of visiting Box4Kids at Liverpool Football Club. He was a fanatical supporter of the Mighty Reds and described his night in the box as the “best night of his life”! As a parent, to witness that joy on your child’s face is irreplaceable.

All of us at The Jockey Club are delighted to be working with The Barrie Wells Trust. Box4Kids provides a huge amount of amazing support for those in need and I am delighted that we are able to help them in this important work.

Paul Fisher, Group Managing Director at The Jockey Club

Box4Kids is an amazing initiative to be a part of! The children who I work with have often had prolonged periods of time in hospital where they feel incredibly unwell, managing not only their tough treatment programs but coming to terms with having a life threatening illness. Box4Kids offers VIP events where they can ‘escape’ and not have to wear the ‘ill person’ label for a day. These experiences are priceless, and the feedback from families has only ever been overwhelmingly positive.

Emily Hunter, CLIC Sargent social worker at Great Ormond Street & University College London Hospitals

We hold the Superbox at Welford Road, the home of Leicester Tigers, and think the Box4Kids initiative is fantastic.  It is so easy to take corporate hospitality for granted when you host week in, week out.  It is also easy to take for granted good health, and your children.  Some of the families that the Barrie Wells Trust supports do not have this luxury and any respite for the sick children and their families should be cherished and the opportunity to make memories together is very special.

Linda Lawrence, on behalf of Breedon Group

We cannot thank the Barrie Wells Trust enough for allowing us the privilege of enjoying these experiences. They are very special and create smiles through very difficult times. As a family it has helped us to have family time and make special memories.

Alison Hatton, mother of Matthew who has attended Box4Kids events at Leicester City FC
I was delighted to have been invited to accompany some of our children and young people from Alder Hey to Box4Kids at Liverpool Football Club. You could feel their excitement and the sense of pleasure to be out of hospital with their parents enjoying an experience that many of them had only ever dreamed of. The whole event was wonderful and great fun and Barrie’s hosting made everyone feel extra special.
