Saturday 2nd of January welcomed our first event of the year -Leicester City vs. Bournemouth.
The Box4Kids event at the King Power Stadium was another huge success! Box4Kids provided four passionate Leicester City fans who were nominated by CLIC at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, to a wonderful VIP experience at Leicester City Football Club. Thanks to the excellent hospitality, all the guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal and a surprise visit from the mascot Filbert Fox before the game kicked-off at 3pm. Our fabulous Box4Kids host Jez was on hand to ensure the children had a fantastic Box4Kids experience,’we had a great afternoon in the box on Saturday!’
Caesars Entertainment UK generously donated the VIP box to Barrie Wells and his Box4Kids initiative for the game against Bournemouth. Throughout the 90 minute game no goals were scored, nevertheless this didn’t dis-hearten the young fans, who cheered on their favourite team all the way.
The four young fans are all going through cancer treatment at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, Box4Kids experiences not only provide an enjoyable day out but they give children and their families a chance to speak to others who are in a similar situation. One of the young fans arrived in his replica goalkeeper shirt as his favourite player Kasper Schmeichel. His mother told our host that he was only diagnosed a week after starting as a goalie with a junior football team and so the Box4Kids experience was fantastic, laughing and smiling throughout and proudly showing off pictures with his favourite Leicester City players.
If you or your company would like to get involved with our initiative and donate a box we would love to hear from you!
