Harry’s Story
Meet 9-year-old Harry!

He loves Manchester City FC and his favourite player is Bernardo Silva. He also enjoys Lego, XBOX and spending time with his family.
Harry is diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is a muscle wasting condition. His condition is degenerative, and he will eventually stop walking and using his upper body strength. The life expectancy of this condition is early 20s.
Rachel, Harry’s mum, nominated him via our website and mentioned him being a big Manchester City fan. Thanks to our very generous box donator at Manchester City, it was not long until we were able to call Rachel to invite Harry to a Box4Kids event at the Etihad Stadium.
Harry’s VIP Experience

On 21st September 2019, Harry and his dad Gareth attended the Manchester City vs. Watford match.
They were treated to a delicious lunch in the comfort and luxury of the executive box and enjoyed the VIP treatment throughout the afternoon. They had first class views of the action-packed game from the box’s private balcony and watched Manchester City score 8 goals!
When asked what he enjoyed the most about his Box4Kids experience, Harry said, ‘being with my dad watching Man City, being able to have easy access with my wheelchair, the food was great and seeing Man City win!’
Not only is the box a luxurious and VIP space, it is also a safe and secure environment for the children who have a huge variety of medical needs which can stop them from being able to watch events in standard seating.
‘Thank you for inviting me and my dad, it has given me a great memory which I have photos of on my bedroom wall.’
It is always so lovely to hear how much Box4Kids events mean to the children. With the support from our amazing box holders, like Bridgepoint who donated this box, and Manchester City for always providing such incredible hospitality, we can provide such special and important memories to children like Harry. If you have an executive box and would like to donate it to our Box4Kids initiative, please do get in touch.
